Back to the Roots Cooking Demo

As the heat of summer gives way to the cooling off of early autumn, our bodies begin to crave the bounty that comes from the cool earth. In the element theory, late summer is its own season, reflecting the transition into fall by offering the grounding balance of Earth Element. What better way to celebrate this transition than to explore the food from the ground itself in roots that have been soaking up nutrients from the soil all spring and summer. We will explore sweet potatoes, white potatoes, rutabaga (“what is that?!” you say?) as well as some great herbs and spices like rosemary, cumin, turmeric, and parsley. By the time we are done, we will have a yummy Rutabaga and Sweet Potato Soup to enjoy together.

For in person events I will bring the ingredients needed to serve everyone, plus sourdough bread and butter to accompany.

For virtual events each person will receive an ingredients list & recipe card, along with suggested meal accompaniments.
