Medical Meditation for Brain Longevity

This presentation covers the definition of 3 categories of memory loss, along with scientific research through the Alzheimer's Research and Prevention Foundation, supporting the meditation taught. Attendees will learn the mechanics of this easy to practice effective 11 minute meditation and how it affects the brain. The meditation will be taught and practiced together as a group. Participants will receive a handout detailing some of the supportive research and a teaching guide for the meditation, so they can practice it at home.

-Gain understanding of how this meditation enhances brain longevity, the immune system, reduces anxiety and depression and. improves sleep quality

About this Speaker

Karen has 20 years of certified experience teaching a wide variety of methods and students of all ages, levels and abilities. She has been employed as a private instructor, in fitness centers, yoga studios, in large senior living communities as well as taught for non profit organizations. Karen especially enjoys teaching yoga workshops and brain longevity trainings. She is a confident, enthusiastic and passionate speaker. Her former profession as an R..N., BSN, offers credibility and communication skills which have proven to be of great benefit as an effective teacher and presenter. Karen enjoys teaching yoga workshops for PTSD and brain longevity, conscious birthing, the Science of Sound and the Science of Kundalini Yoga. She has taught in Costa Rica, as well as Arizona and Colorado. In 2009 Karen developed a successful yoga program for conscious birthing. For the past 10 years she has specialized in working with people suffering from dementia and Alzheimer, applying her knowledge of movement, music and sound to create classes to benefit their physical, emotional, social well being.
